Lecturer in Applied Economics for Tourism at the University of Padua
Of Italian-German nationality, born in Ebikon in Switzerland in 1962, Stefan Marchioro graduated in Political Science at the University of Padua with 110 cum laude with a thesis on “Legal aspects of thermalism in the Veneto Region”.
After a brief interlude in the field of healthcare and local authorities, he has worked continuously on tourism, holding the position of director of the Tourism Promotion Companies of Padua, Terme Euganee, Rovigo, Vicenza and Turismo Padova Terme Euganee, a special company of the Province of Padua, until 2012.
Since 2003 he has been collaborating with the University of Padua and is currently a lecturer in Applied Economics for Tourism, a member of the Organising Committee and a lecturer in the Master in “Design of the tourist offer”.
Since 2017 he has also been a member of the Scientific Committee of CISET. He has dedicated several publications to the theme of governance in the tourism sector, destination management and destination marketing.
He is on the Planning Committee of BTO11, and in the Research Working Group.
