Valeria has over 20 years of experience in research, consulting and training on tourism issues and has worked for national and international organisations (ISTAT, EUROSTAT, CE, UNWTO, OECD, etc.). Her main areas of activity include: market intelligence; digital tourism; analysis of the socio-economic effects of tourism; responsible tourism; development of territorial and destination strategies and policies.

She is a member of IFITT and of the Scientific Committee of ENTER, as well as of the Editorial Committee of the Journal of Information Technology and Tourism. She is on the Planning Committee of BTO11, and in the Research Working Group
